Painting by Tamara de Lempicka
Happy St. Patrick's Day! So, I looked in my closet and surprise, surprise... I don't own anything GREEN. Well, does army green count? As I've mentioned before, I've got mainly a sea of black, grey, camel and of course, white for spring/summer.
admit it... he's cute!
I happen to love the color "chartreuse" yet I can't envision wearing it because I think I would look like a giant Iguana. A little trivia about me -- I actually had a pet Iguana that I named Chartreuse when I was in college. I know... bizarre. Eventually, I moved on to softer and cuddlier animals. But, I digress...
my silk charmeuse dress on Sylvia Williams
I figured since I have nothing green to wear and share today, I would post one of my pieces that I designed instead. Sylvia Williams was so kind as to model this silk charmeuse, cowl back dress inspired by one of my favorite Tamara de Lempicka paintings. I love this dress although, we hated each other while I was making it... silk charmeuse can be such a bitch to sew!

Beautiful both coming and going. Green is my favorite. Happy St. Patrick's Day.
ReplyDeleteWow - that dress is fantastic! Have you ever made it in other (easier) fabrics? Would it work in a less "soft" fabric?
ReplyDeletei love a dress that looks good when you enter AND leave a room...that is absolutely beautiful! and of course...one of my favorite colors...
ReplyDeletebtw...army green does count =)
I used to think I couldn't possibly wear green. Now I have tons of it!
ReplyDeleteI used to think I couldn't wear green either! But then again, anything Stacy dresses me in looks fabulous :)
