Who writes the "rules of fashion" and do we really need to follow them? White after Labor Day? I say, why not? Black and navy or black and brown? These combos can look super chic when combined the right way. And I know that Wendy Brandes, who lives by her motto, "wear what you want," mixes her white and yellow gold jewelry! So, go for it, break the rules! Of course, there are always exceptions. I don't like to see tasteless or ill-fitting clothes -- I'm talking to you, WalMart peeps!

I'm also ignoring the "age-appropriate" rules and I'm wearing shorts this summer. I'll probably wear a bikini too. I'm not saying that I'll wear a micro mini and pull a "Brittany" or anything, but I'm not really concerning myself with whether or not my skirt length reveals my knee caps. I'll wear my military style boots for years to come and I'll wear them with skirts (that reveal my kneecaps!)...
Break all the rules you want to. No matter what, you look fabulous!
