What the Frick?

Anthony van Dyck - Frans Snyders, 1620

I had one of those perfect New York afternoon’s on Tuesday. The snow had finally melted and for a moment, at least, I saw the sun! I met my good friend and multi-talented exhibition designer, Charles at the Frick Collection to get lost in some powerful and precious art (click here for my interview with Charles for the Lookonline.com). Topping the day off with cocktails at Bemelmans in the Carlyle was icing on the cake!

Giovanni Bellini - St. Francis in the Desert, 1480

Rembrandt - Self Portrait, 1658
The Frick is a gorgeous building right across from Central Park that holds some priceless paintings from the great Rembrandt, Vermeer and Goya as well as a substantial collection of bronze sculpture. I thought I would share some of my favorites…

Vermeer - Mistress and Maid, c. 1666-1667

Vermeer - Officer and Laughing Girl, c.1655-1660

  2. The Frick is one of my more favorite NYC spots. I love the way all the art is displayed. The house in itself is a museum right in our own backyard. Sounds like an awesome day!
