Fall 2011
As Fall 2011 Fashion Week winds down in NYC, I am smack in the middle of my collection. This season, I chose to show a bit later (end of March) rather than compete with the hundreds of other shows during Fashion Week. There are literally ten shows every hour for one solid week all over the city and new labels and designers can easily get lost amongst the big guns and the hyped up-and-comers. Though I am a veteran designer, I am still considered a newbie in terms of my own label, STACY LOMMAN : NEW YORK, which just launched last September.

So, I will keep my taffetadarlings updated over the next few weeks and perhaps even give you a glimpse of the new line. I'm very excited to be working on my fall collection. This season, I'm branching out a bit and you will see, of course, dresses as well as separates. And I am LOVING my fabrics! They are top shelf in quality, but they are innovate and subtle at the same time. Have I piqued your interest??
I love this style, so very New York...
ReplyDeleteMy interest is most definitely piqued! Can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteI already want that jacket, Stacy.
ReplyDeleteOMG - that is SO GORGEOUS. I don't know what I like better, the cut or the beautiful colour. Is this what you've been pick stitching? Far better to show in March when we're all so longing for some new fashion...
ReplyDeleteLoving all your fabrics!
ReplyDeleteThat looks indie-licious. I think you're doing a good thing: many reviews of shows are simply a back stage picture and one maybe two runway shots (the kind that you accept are likely the ones that came out well, not necessarily the heart of the collection. Other reviews are reduced to sweet tweeting with, umm, valley-girl language. WHERE are the buyers?
ReplyDeleteSo many mediocre banal pieces being shown. Buyers will adore really tight groups of deliciously saleable indie fashion in your lux drives-you-crazy Italian fabrics (that much is the same).
I mistakenly walked through a Nordstrom's yesterday and was absolutely stunned at the horrific could-be-Sears windows and displays, the buying was crass, the jewelry counter (hello Wendy was literally more common than what you would see strewn on a blanket in China Town. Course materials and nothing simple and fine. Like a cheap buffet.
Get these out there. Thrive.
more than piqued...lovin what i see...
ReplyDeleteand...amen! to "in new york paris tomorrow" i couldn't agree more...as a personal shopper - the pickins are slim out there...well...in main stream stores...
Count my interest as definitely piqued!! Loving the look of that chic jacket - love the contrast of materials and shape of lapel and collar - has a bit of a 40s look - love it!!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of showing later.... rather like when I showed at ArtMiami... too many venues, too many activities, etc. ..much better to show after when people are really paying attention and hopefully buying !!
ReplyDeleteThis jacket has lovely lines, looking forward to seeing the rest of the collection and really enjoy your fabric descriptions...scrumptious!!
Stacy, I can't wait to see the new collection! I know it will be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for all of your positive comments!
ReplyDeleteI love the color, and the structure looks amazing!
