I was lucky enough to attend a wonderful event last night... a conversation with Donna Karan!  FIT Museum director and chief curator Valerie Steele chatted with Donna in Tishman Auditorium at The New School.  Parsons is launching two graduate programs in fashion studies, one of which was inspired by Ms. Karan.

    Actually Donna Karan is providing Shelley's grant/salary so she can develop the program! Most people don't know that DK never graduated from Parsons and since she has been donating tons of money to the school, and due to her immense accomplishment in the industry she got awarded an honorary degree.
    And yes, the new program rocks!
